Richard Shenfeld Testimonial
My father died of prostate cancer in 2000, so when I was diagnosed in February 2009, my worst fears had come true. During the past several years, I got annual PSAs and physical exams to monitor how things were progressing, but after an increase in PSA I had a biopsy that was positive for cancer. After the initial shock had settled, I scheduled an appointment with Radiation Oncology Associates to review my options. My fears were understandable, having a family history with my father and an uncle on my mom’s side currently fighting cancer.
Immediately upon meeting with the staff and doctors, my wife and I felt much more comfortable discussing options and getting a better understanding of the cancer. I felt at ease and though naturally apprehensive, I was ready to proceed with a treatment plan that best suited my situation.
In an age of expanded Internet availability and knowledge, there is simply no replacing the personal care I received throughout my treatment. From the receptionists, nurses, doctors and other personnel that helped me during my radiation therapy, I felt that not only was I getting the best care, but I felt safe as well. Things went well and I am getting on with my life and living as another survivor of prostate cancer.
