Stephen Clough Testimonial
“Guys are so very proud – convinced that medical problems are other peoples’ issues, not ours. I was one of the typical ones who had suffered few medical problems in my life, until last year. In 2008 Homestead High School hosted a Health Fair, which I was going to skip because, as anyone knows, twenty bucks used on some thing fun could do so much, rather than be invested on a stupid blood test. Besides, for fi ve years previous I had faithfully undergone blood screenings, including PSA, with no negative indicators ever. When I informed my wife Donna that I was opting out, she replied, “It’s twenty dollars, not much cost to save your life – you’re having the test!” Put that way, how could I not? I hate it when she is so reasonable.
When the PSA came back at 6.9, my process started, eventually sending me to Radiation Oncology Associates, where I began my forty daily treatments, administered by six different radiation techs with Dr. Bajpai planning, supervising, checking and double checking. Prior to treatment I couldn’t even imagine how wonderful everyone involved in my case would be; from the weekly blood tests to the check-in with Dr. Bajpai, what was routine was treated as if I were the only patient in the world. Megan, Melissa, Katie, Ashlee, and other girls (I can call them so because I am 59 now) cared for me daily with concern, compassion, and humor. Their group hug at the end of my regimen was statement enough from this group of professionals whose daily work is saving lives – one of whose is now mine, a patient most grateful to be given back his life. So, doctors, nurses, techs, business department, and all, a heartfelt thanks on behalf of so many of us who are here now because of what you do each day.”
