Intraoperative Radiation Therapy
Intraoperative radiation therapy is a method of delivering radiation to a tumor during surgery. This procedure is utilized to improve local tumor control without increasing complications to normal tissues. This requires a combination of a surgical operative team in an operating suite with radiation capabilities. Parkview Regional Oncology Center is the only facility in our area that is equipped with this type of operating room.
